(Memphis, TN – April 24, 2026) The family of Tennessee State Representative Goffrey
(“G.A.) Hardaway, Sr. announce his passing this morning at 5:22 a.m. after a brief
illness, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, in Nashville, TN.
Rep. Hardaway represented TN House District 93 and has served as a state legislator
for 19 years with honor and distinction. He served as the Chair of the Shelby County
Legislative Democratic Caucus and former Chair of the Tennessee Black Caucus of
State Legislators.
