(December 15, 2025 – Memphis, TN) Criminal charges against former Memphis Academy of Health Sciences Executive Director Corey D. Johnson were dismissed by a Shelby County judge in November of this year.

Johnson has always maintained his innocence. “I am thankful that these criminal cases were dismissed and I can move on with my life,” said Corey D. Johnson. “This has been a very trying 6 years. My faith and support from my family and friends have sustained me. I’m ready to put this behind me, secure the next professional opportunity and move on with my life.”

In November 2021, a Shelby County Grand Jury indicted Johnson for theft of property over $250,000. Both cases were dismissed in court on November 18, 2025.

“Our office is happy to see this case dismissed, and the facts are exactly what our client has always stated,” said Attorney Curtis D. Johnson Jr., Johnson and Johnson, PC.  “We thank all the parties involved, especially those who believed that ultimately truth would prevail, and will have no further comment on this matter.”
