A panel of businesswomen will share their successes and challenges when they discuss “How to Get the Job Done as a Woman CEO” at NAWBO (National Association of Women Business Owners) Memphis’ monthly luncheon on Tuesday, April 9 at Chickasaw Country Club.

Following that group, a Memphis Light Gas & Water representative will present the results of a study that examined MLG&W’s use of women-and minority-owned businesses. It is critical for women in business to use this time to provide feedback and connect with diversity contract opportunities.

Speakers at the National Association of Women Business Owners event will include Kim Heathcott of Clarion Security, Gwen Christensen of Builders’ Floors and Interiors, and Deidre Malone of The Carter Malone Group.

Heathcott owns Clarion Security, a provider of armed and unarmed security guards in the Mid-South. A graduate of Vanderbilt University, she also earned a master’s in business administration from Southern Methodist University. Heathcott has an 18-year financial background in corporate and asset-based lending, with an emphasis on fraud auditing and control investigations. She is a graduate of Leadership Memphis, is on the board of Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW) and is president-elect of NAWBO.

She serves on the board of directors for the Memphis Housing Authority, Levitt Shell, Circles of Success Learning Academy, Philanthropic Black Women of Memphis, Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church and is a graduate of Leadership Memphis. Malone served two terms on the Shelby County Commission and, in 2010, made a run at being Shelby County Mayor.

Registration will begin at 11:15 a.m., with lunch running from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Cost is $25 for NAWBO members, $30 for non-members and $35 for on-site registration. Chickasaw Country Club is located at 3395 Galloway Ave.
