Saint Francis Hospital-Memphis has again been awarded the American Heart Association’s Gold Performance Achievement Award for its performance achievement in treating Heart Failure. The hospital received the award as a result of its participation in the American Heart Association’s Get With The Guidelines ® program.

“The cardiology staff and physicians at Saint Francis Hospital do an excellent job in providing high quality care for their patients,” said Michael Lachina, MD, chief medical officer.  “We are pleased to receive the Gold Award as recognition of their outstanding efforts.”

The recognition signifies that Saint Francis has reached an aggressive goal of treating heart failure patients at an 85 percent performance level for at least 12 months based on core standard levels of care, as outlined by the American Heart Association/American College of Cardiology secondary prevention guidelines for heart failure patients.

Get With The Guidelines is a premier hospital-based quality improvement program through which the American Heart Association helps hospitals ensure that patients consistently receive cardiac care services in accordance with the most up-to-date scientific guidelines and recommendations.

Last year, Saint Francis was the only hospital in Memphis to achieve the Gold rating. This year, they are joined by Saint Francis Hospital-Bartlett.
